Who is the artist?
Rubén Rodrigo (Madrid, 1978) is an internationally recognized Spanish artist, holding a degree in Fine Arts (1999–2004) from the University of Salamanca, and a Master’s in Cultural Management and Historical Heritage (2006–2007) from IART, Madrid.
Since 2006, Rodrigo has lived and worked in Madrid. He was awarded a scholarship in 2005 by the Fundación Antonio Gala for Young Creators, and has since exhibited his work in cities including Brussels, Berlin, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Madrid, and Salamanca, among other cultural hubs in Spain.
His most recent projects, Ash Shadows and Hyena Skin, were presented at Espacio Valverde and La Fábrica, respectively. His latest series, Sumi_RGB, received a VEGAP scholarship in the 2016 “Propuestas” competition and was exhibited simultaneously at the Círculo de Bellas Artes (Madrid) and CASTELLANA 22 in September 2017.
