  • What is the purpose of the installation?

This piece is not a commissioned work specifically for the Colnago showroom but is part of Colnago’s private contemporary art collection.

The installation centers on the concept of climbing or reaching a peak. In his totems, Chaparro explores themes of ascent, effort, and intense physical exertion, which resonate with the spirit of sports. Positioned prominently in the main corridor, the piece serves as an icon symbolizing effort and the achievement of a goal.

  • Is there a deeper meaning behind the work?

The artwork embodies themes of aspiration, climbing, and accomplishment. The creative use of color represents the sense of personal freedom that cycling brings.

  • Does it relate to the world of cycling?

While bicycles were not the initial inspiration for this work, the shared values of effort, endurance, and reaching goals strongly connect the piece to the cycling ethos.
