La Vuelta es sueño

A dream Vuelta!

Wow. The edition that just ended was a very fun, unpredictable, and above all... young Vuelta!
The winner, Remco Evenepoel, is only 22 years old, the second placed rider, Enric Mas is 27, but most importantly the third, Juan Ayuso of the UAE Emirates team, is aged just 19 and in his first season as a pro.

He is the second youngest guy ever to finish on the podium of a Grand Tour.
Ayuso, riding his Colnago Prototype, proved himself to be a master of consistency. After losing a few positions at the end of the first week (perhaps due to a slight illness), the Spanish rider rode a superb third week, showing on the climbs that he was equal to the strongest.

Great results also came from the other riders of the UAE Emirates team, which dominated the Team Classification.

An honorable mention goes to Marc Soler, who was awarded the combativity prize after distinguishing himself with 3 stage podiums, including a win. The last stage also brought a final smile to the team. Indeed, it was a Colnago Prototype that crossed the finish line first in the final sprint in Madrid on the last day of this extraordinary Vuelta. Sebastian Molano dominated the sprint, beating Pedersen and his own teammate Pascal Ackermann, who finished third. Two Colnago riders on the podium. What a day to remember. The ace of clubs also shone on Spanish soil.

It’s coffee time!
